Special events venue scores in top tier in emerging growth companies  

Toronto, ON. The Carlu -- Toronto’s renowned special events venue and Canada’s best example of recent heritage restoration -- is honoured to announce it has been named 20th in the sixth annual PROFIT HOT 50 ranking by PROFIT: Your Guide to Business Success. The PROFIT HOT 50 is the definitive ranking of Canada’s emerging growth companies. Published in the September issue of PROFIT and online at PROFITguide.com, the PROFIT HOT 50 ranks young firms by two-year revenue growth. This is the first year The Carlu has been named, showing 351 per cent revenue growth.  

The Carlu’s re-opening was the vision of local entrepreneurs, Jeffry Roick and Mark Robert, who single-handedly raised Cdn $8 million for the project. After twelve months of negotiations and two years of painstaking renovations, The Carlu opened it doors on May 3, 2003. Since then, more than 450 high profile events have been hosted, demonstrating The Carlu’s continued success as one of Canada’s premiere destinations for special events. To-date, close to 200,000 guests have stepped off The Carlu’s private elevators to enjoy its worldly glamour, reminiscent of another era.
