With the spirit of Jack Kerouac, the schtick of Louis Prima, and the spunk of Jerry Lee Lewis, The Dino Martinis are Canada’s premiere jump blues band. Throw them in a blues club, a jazz room, a swing stage, or a rock gig, and the group feels right at home. A good thing too, because after years of trying to nail their sound to the latest fad, the media has finally thrown up its arms and accepted The Dino Martinis as something that stands alone. The band celebrating 10 years together in 2004, continues to enjoy great success nationally and internationally.

Two Cd’s of original compositions already showcase the group’s bent and beautiful songwriting- but this is a band that really calls the stage home. The band completed its first tour of Europe last February 2001. The group released “Nuthin’ But the Hits” on the German record label Frankie Boy Records. The group also appears on two compilation Cd’s in that market. The band did a second tour of Europe in 2002. Some of the countries they visited included Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and the legendary 100 Club in London.

The group won two awards for their “mockumentary” short film “Language of Love”. They won the Alberta Motion Pictures Industry Award for Best Music Video in April 2001 and the Yorkton Jury Prize for the video in May 2001.

If this wasn’t enough, the band just played for President Bill Clinton’s Gala Dinner in 2002 in Calgary. Lead singer Nicole Brennan and Keyboardist Patrick McGannon performed the Canadian National Anthem to open the dinner event, and the band even played after the dinner! They even got a picture with Bill Clinton! This band has even played in Hollywood for Tom Hanks and Glenn Frey of the Eagles!

Their Christmas Cd “50,000,000 Santa Fans Can’t Be Wrong!” was released nationally across Canada this year and has toured Europe twice in the past two years. The band has sold over 25,000 cd’s around the world and played over 600 shows.

Recently the group has added two alter ego bands, a 70’s disco band Magic 8 Ball and an 80’s retro band called “Jacuzzi Romance” complete with costume changes. The band can be three different bands in one all in the same night.
