The Playhouse Theatre Company won nine awards at the 22nd Annual Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards, held Monday 14th June at the Commodore Ballroom.
Equus led the way with a total of 6 awards, including Outstanding Production - Large Theatre, Outstanding Direction - Large Theatre (Glynis Leyshon) and Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Bill Dow).
In addition, Hello, Dolly! scooped 3 awards including Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Susinn McFarlen).
Glynis Leyshon, Artistic Director, Playhouse Theatre Company, said: "All of us here at the Playhouse are delighted with the recognition our productions, actors and designers have received this year. It's nights like these that justify all the hard work the staff put in year round at the Playhouse." Leyshon continues: "We feel very proud of every artist who has contributed toward this landmark season and we salute them all."

The Playhouse is also honoured to have been involved with NeWorld Theatre's Jessie Award-winning production, Asylum of the Universe, winner for Outstanding Costume Design - Small Theatre (Marina Szijarto).
