Hollywood comes to Victoria for Courtnall Celebrity Classic fundraiser

Award-winning show producers PRP bring the stars together for celebrity gala to raise over $1 million for mental health programs and facility

On August 6, 2004, Steve Nash, Jason Priestley and Pamela Anderson came "home" for the second annual Courtnall Celebrity Classic (CCC) held in Victoria on July 17th. Hosted by former NHL players, Geoff, Russ, and their brother Bruce Courtnall, the celebrity golf event, gala and auction was created to raise funds and awareness for mental health.

Working with Event Manager Judy Christianson of Christianson & Company, PRP Inc. was contracted to provide a dynamic entertainment production for the event. Pamela Anderson, Scott Hamilton, Bruce Greenwood. Barney Bentall, Jim Byrnes and Don Felder of the Eagles participated in the gala and live auction, which raised over $1 million to help complete the construction of the new Psychiatric Emergency Services Unit, currently being built adjacent the Royal Jubilee Hospital.

A highlight of the evening's entertainment was 11 year-old Alexandra "Ally" Courtnall, daughter of Russ and Paris Courtnall - and granddaughter of legendary jazz singer, Sarah Vaughn - who brought the crowd to their feet with her amazing performance of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

"The Courtnall Celebrity Classic brings the glamour of Hollywood to Victoria for a great cause," said Patrick Roberge, President of PRP. "We were pleased to work with Judy Christianson, the Courtnall family and all of the performers to help make the event such a huge success."
