Canadians Win Big at EventWorld
International Special Events Society members from around the world gathered in St. Petersburg, Fla., Aug. 21-23 for Eventworld 2008, the association's annual educational and networking conference. The finale was a Roaring Twenties award gala, where the prestigious ISES Esprit Awards were presented. Nine of the thirty-six awards came home to Canada, including one for the 2007 Canadian Event Industry Awards Gala.

CSEME - Canada's internationally recognized Event Industry Conference and Trade Show announces 2009 dates
CEP Magazine is delighted to announce that the 2009 Canadian Special Events & Meetings Expo will take place March 25 to 27, 2009, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada.
This years event will feature new and exciting educational seminars by a global cast of award winning speakers, the annual 120 booth trade show, the spectacular Theme Design Competition, the all NEW Toronto's Best Caterers Challenge, and the fabulous CSEME Industry BASH. The 12th Annual Canadian Event Industry Awards Gala Celebration will round out the 3 day event on the evening of March 27th. Exhibit space is now in the renewal stage for 2008 exhibitors.
New exhibitors wishing to book space should email us and will be put on a waiting list until August 20, at which time the show will be opened up for general sales. Don’t delay! This show will sell out fast this year. Conference registration opens in October. Stay tuned to the website for details.

2011 Best Year Ever for Vancouver Convention Bookings
Tourism Vancouver and the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre have announced that 2011 will be the best year yet for convention bookings. The newly expanded convention facilities will open in spring 2009, and with nearly 20 major conventions either signed or in the process of signing, 2011 is shaping up to be the busiest and most successful year in Vancouver's convention history.
Some major conventions already booked for 2011 include:
- The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS)
- NAFSA: Association of International Educators
- Special Interest Group on GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH)
