Culinary Capers Catering Kicks-off 20th Year with a Bang
Torino, Italy – Capers Catering is the caterer of choice for the wildly successful British Columbia Canada Place in Torino, Italy. British Columbia Canada Place is B.C.’s home in Torino for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, and is a key part in the province’s effort to leverage the 2010 Olympic opportunity to increase investment and economic development in B.C. The log house with attached high tech exhibit hall has created a huge “buzz” in the heart of this historic Italian city.
In addition to the “state of the art” log home construction and dazzling visuals, British Columbia Canada Place has quickly become known for the quality of the food and service at the receptions hosted at the popular venue. The Opening Night Party, with an initial guest list of 250, attracted over 400 hungry dignitaries, local and international officials and tourism professionals over the course of the evening. Some highlights of the menu were herb prawns presented on pipettes filled with lemincello, vine ripe cherry tomatoes stuffed with crisp bacon and romaine lettuce with a dollop of house-made mayonnaise and cranberry tapenade on a shallot biscotti with Gorgonzola.
President Debra Lykkemark of Culinary Capers heads a nine member team in Torino for the British Columbia Canada Place project, with talented Sous Chef Jonathan Chovancek in charge of the kitchen. The goal of Culinary Capers’ involvement is to present the best of west coast cuisine to the international audience attending events in Torino. Culinary Capers Catering and their seasoned professional staff are celebrating their twentieth anniversary in 2006 and their involvement in Torino is the latest in a history of business successes over the past two decades.
