American Rental Association Kicks off 50th Anniversary
The American Rental Association (with member in all Canadian provinces) kicked off its 50th Anniversary celebration by hosting a homecoming weekend for its past presidents and board members, plus area members at its newly renovated ARA headquarters in Moline, Ill., earlier this month.  More than 130 guests from 23 states and four Canadian provinces gathered to honor the past, share stories, relive memories and enjoy kinship with industry colleagues and friends. Among the guests were 16 ARA past presidents, including the association’s first president and its oldest living past president, and the families of four 50-year ARA member rental stores.

Iceculture Wows Toronto
Toronto’s famous Ice Design company Iceculture, creates another spectacular display with the opening of the Ice Lounge at C Lounge. The Ice Lounge is the world’s largest bar made entirely of ice. “Our tables, our bar, our glasses, our walls – all ice,” proclaims Nick Di Donato of the Liberty Group C Lounge. About the only thing that’s not flash frozen are the people who serve you the drinks”. The frozen castle is being built in the rear patio of the C Lounge at 456 Wellington St. W.

Vancouver Reaps Top Accolades
Recently Vancouver has added two new accolades to its long list of honours, earning the distinction of "most liveable city" in the world, and being named "Best City in the Americas" to visit. The first honour comes care of rankings issued by international business intelligence firm, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). The organization reviewed 127 cities worldwide on factors such as stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure, and placed Vancouver at the top of the list.

Toronto Congress Centre is the Americas' First Convention Centre to Receive HACCP Accreditation
