The Rental Show Will Stay in New Orleans in 2007
The American Rental Association announced today that The Rental Show will stay in New Orleans as previously scheduled, Feb. 12-15, 2007, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. During a regularly-scheduled board meeting this past week, the American Rental Association’s board of directors re-affirmed New Orleans as the site for the 2007 The Rental Show. A representative of the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau met with the board and gave updates on the city’s progress. Sallee Pavlovich, director of convention & trade show sales for the New Orleans CVB, announced that the majority of hotels anticipate being fully operational and receiving guests by Jan. 1, 2006. The city also anticipates that the convention center will re-open for business by April 1, 2006, with new carpet, furnishings and interior surfaces, she added.
ARA board members pledged their support of a long-term partnership with the city of New Orleans. President Allen Morehead, Lancaster, Pa., said, “The members of the American Rental Association want to show their support for the people of New Orleans, and this commitment by the board offers the greatest opportunity to give our exhibitors and attendees the best possible show in 2007.”
“Due to the large amount of rental equipment being used for recovery activities in the city and along the entire Gulf Coast, the rental industry will play a big part in the rebirth of New Orleans,” added ARA’s Chairman, Tom Fouts, Lee’s Summit, Mo.
The Rental Show, the world’s largest rental equipment trade show, is annually ranked among the top 100 shows by Tradeshow Week magazine. The Rental Show typically brings more than 11,000 attendees to the host city. On average, more than 14,000 hotel rooms are attributed to The Rental Show.
